LivTours reviews: Florence tour prices and groups of six

LivTours sells a number before it sells an itinerary: six participants maximum. The whole price list rests on that constraint, running from €89 for a gelato class to €879 for a private day in Chianti. The semi-private Uffizi costs €119 per person.

The verdict in two sentences: the format delivers what it promises and the reviews are the best in the city, a straight 5.0 from more than a thousand ratings. The price, though, is four times the museum ticket, and the corporate structure is more complicated than the site lets on.

It suits couples and threesomes who want to be able to ask questions and treat the guide as part of the holiday. It does not suit anyone looking for the most efficient way into the Uffizi: a timed ticket and an audio guide do that job.

The price list is organised by person and by format, not by monument. Below are the stated prices next to their equivalents on the platforms and the museum’s official price, at the time of checking.

At the Accademia the comparison is the clearest of the lot: €109 against roughly €44 for the same museum, the same statue and the same length. How booking works

You buy online and receive a voucher with a time and a meeting point. On the products that include it, the museum ticket is a supplement: it is the line that does not come back in a refund, so check how the total is made up before you pay.

The semi-private format has an operational consequence: departures are few and they sell out. With six places per slot, an Uffizi tour in high season needs booking weeks ahead, not days.

State museum slots are the same ones everybody else uses. No operator has a separate door: what you are buying is the guide and the group size, not different access from the one described on our Uffizi Gallery page.

Cancellation, refunds and support

The policy is among the cleanest in Florence. Up to 24 hours before you can cancel for any reason and choose between a full refund and travel credit worth 110% of what you spent: the ten per cent bonus is an honest incentive rather than a trap, provided you come back to Italy.

Within 24 hours there is no refund and no change. Entry tickets bought as a supplement are non-refundable in every case, because the operator buys them in your name.

Support answers on a US number and by email. If you are already in Florence with a problem at meeting time, there is no office in the city to walk into: that is the main limit of an otherwise solid model.

What the reviews say

The figure is unusual: 5.0 out of 5 from 1,044 reviews on TripAdvisor, fifth of 1,284 Florence attractions and a Travelers’ Choice award at the time of checking. A full score across a thousand ratings is rare and deserves to be taken seriously.

There is no Trustpilot page, neither for livtours.com nor for the old livitaly.com domain. Anyone showing you a Trustpilot score for this operator is quoting something else.

Complaints exist but are few and concentrated outside Florence: the harshest concerns a Vatican tour with a partial refund promised and never paid. On the Florence side the negative signal is weak.

One point of form worth noting: the site carries a copyright starting from a year far more recent than the founding date it claims, and the Rome agency’s VAT number is published a digit short. These are sloppy details, not evidence of anything, but at €119 a head you expect more care.

Verdict

LivTours is worth 4 out of 5. It is the only Florence operator in this set that holds its cap on participants without playing games with the word “small”, and the cancellation policy with 110% credit is the most generous in the group we looked at.

The point lost is about corporate transparency and the absence of anyone on the ground: two details that do not matter while everything runs smoothly and become the whole problem when it does not.

So would you pay four times the ticket price? For two or three people who want to talk to a guide rather than listen to a headset, yes — that is what you are buying, and it is delivered. For four or more the sum passes €450 for one museum, and at that point a private tour or an audio guide entry plus a good printed guide gives you more per euro.

Book it if there are two or three of you, you want to ask questions, and the per-person budget stretches to €119.
