Florence combo tickets: prices, the 5% discount and when they really pay off

Florence combo tickets work in a simple way: Tiqets puts two attractions into a single purchase and applies a 5% discount on the sum of the two tickets you have chosen. On a €52.25 pairing that is €2.75; on a €108.30 one, €5.70. The saving is real but modest, and it says nothing about the comparison with the official price: the Uffizi costs €25 for the same day according to uffizi.it, the Accademia Gallery €20 plus €4 booking, the Brunelleschi Pass €30 according to the Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore.

How the 5% discount works

A combo is not a card or a timed pass: it is two separate tickets, each with its own date and time slot, bought in one order. You pick the package, then for each component you select the ticket variant and a slot from those still available. Validity is simply the dates you choose: there is no 72-hour window as with the Firenze Card.

The discount is calculated on the total of the two selected variants, not on a fixed list price. That is why two combos with the same name can cost different amounts: the included ticket changes. In the table above, for instance, several “Duomo and Accademia” tickets appear at €57, €108.30 and €113.05: in the first the Duomo is a guided tour of the Cathedral alone from €10, in the others it is an entry with the Dome climb from €64–€69.

One note that is worth the price of this page: in several combos the Accademia goes in with a €50 variant, while the cheapest single ticket to the same gallery on Tiqets costs €31. A 5% discount does not make up a gap like that. Which variant is included cannot be read off the package price: the feed shows only the total, and the make-up appears only when you open the combo listing. Do that before you buy.

Which Florence ticket bundles really save money

Here are three combos against the sum of the cheapest single Tiqets tickets, at feed prices at the time of checking.

The mechanism never changes: a twentieth of the total. Which means the combos that save the most in euros are simply the most expensive ones, not the best value. A €130.18 combo saves you €6.85 against the same two tickets bought separately, but it is still the priciest product in the catalogue.

The practical rule: if you have already decided to buy those two tickets on Tiqets, the combo always beats two separate purchases. If you have not yet decided where to buy, the comparison that matters is a different one.

The real comparison: combos versus official tickets

Here the numbers speak for themselves. The official prices are the ones with booking, that is what you would pay buying in advance through the official channel.

The only pairing that stands up to the official comparison is Uffizi with Pitti and Boboli. Careful, though, because a third option beats them both: the PassePartout 5 Days from the Uffizi Galleries costs €40 and includes one entry each to the Uffizi, Pitti Palace and the Boboli Gardens over five consecutive days, with priority access. The equivalent product on the platforms costs €45, the combo €52.25, separate official tickets €54.

The starkest case is the Duomo: the Brunelleschi Pass, the only official way up the Dome, costs €30 on the Opera’s site with no fees. Every combo that includes the Dome starts from a €64 or €69 variant. What you are buying is slot availability when the official site is sold out, not a price advantage. Combos with the Uffizi

Before you choose, three things about the Uffizi that change the purchase. Gallery tickets are personal: the name must match your ID, otherwise entry is refused with no refund. Opening hours are 8:15–18:30 Tuesday to Sunday with last entry at 17:30, closed on Mondays. And from 16:00 the official ticket drops to €16 for the same day: it is the strongest price lever in the city, and no combo replicates it.

The combo with the Vasari Corridor deserves its own thought: the route is one-way, takes 45 minutes, does not allow re-entry and requires you to enter the Gallery two hours before your passage. Officially, the Uffizi and the Corridor together cost €43 for the same day and €47 in advance.

Combos with the Duomo

The Opera’s complex sells only three passes: Brunelleschi €30 with the Dome, Giotto €20 without the Dome, Ghiberti €15 without any climb. They last three calendar days, with one entry per monument, and they cannot be changed, cancelled or refunded, not even through the official channel. There is no Dome-only ticket and no official skip-the-line.

When a combo offers you the “Duomo” at €10, that is not a pass: it is a guided tour of the Cathedral alone, whose nave can in any case be visited free from Monday to Saturday between 10:15 and 15:45. Always read what is inside before you add things up.

Accademia combos: the Uffizi and Accademia duel

The Uffizi and Accademia combo is the city’s best seller, and it is also where price gaps between the platforms are widest.

A warning about this table: when a price falls below the official total of €53, it is never magic. It normally means an afternoon slot — from 16:00 the Uffizi costs €16 — or a set-up different from the one you are picturing. The “from” price in the feed does not say which: that is read on the product listing. Before buying, open the listing and check three lines: entry time, what it actually includes, and whether the audio guide is the official one or a third-party app.

The Accademia Gallery opens 8:15–18:50 with last entry at 18:10 and closes on Mondays, like the Uffizi: the two museums never cover for each other. Details and route on Accademia and David.

How to choose the two entry times

This is the part people get wrong most often, because the system shows available slots but does not warn you that you have built an impossible day.

Put whatever has the rigid slot first. The Dome has departures roughly every fifteen minutes and a grace period of five minutes: after that, the pass is lost. Same logic for the Arnolfo Tower and the Vasari Corridor. Everything else adapts.

Leave at least three hours between the Uffizi and the Accademia. The official rules set two hours as the minimum visit time for the Uffizi Gallery; add security checks, the walk and the entry queue at the Accademia, where you need to turn up with a few minutes in hand.

Check both museums’ closing days before confirming. The Uffizi and the Accademia close on Mondays, the Museo dell’Opera del Duomo on the first Tuesday of the month, Palazzo Vecchio closes at 14:00 on Thursdays and the Boboli Gardens on the first and last Monday of the month.

Split across two days if you can. Nothing obliges you to use both halves of the combo on the same day, and two two-hour museums in one afternoon are torture, not a holiday.

Cancellation, refunds and names on tickets

Combos are normally non-refundable. Tiqets terms say cancellation is possible only where it is declared in the product description, and tickets for the Uffizi and the Accademia are explicitly marked as non-refundable, with no date change. At checkout you are often offered a supplement to make the ticket refundable: that is the only way to buy yourself any margin.

On GetYourGuide the general rule is softer — full refund for cancellations more than 24 hours ahead — but it applies unless the individual product says otherwise, so check the listing.

The official channel, by contrast, never refunds: not the Uffizi Galleries, not the Opera del Duomo passes. If there is a real chance your plans will change, that flexibility has a price and may be worth the difference.

When a pass wins instead

A combo makes sense with two attractions. From three upwards the sums change and it pays to look at passes: the Firenze Card costs €85, lasts 72 hours from the first entry and includes booking, but covers no monument of the Duomo complex and no public transport. With the Uffizi, the Accademia and Palazzo Vecchio booked in advance you reach €72: you break even from the fourth major museum onwards.
